Christopher S. Brothers is a Managing Director at Saybrook Capital Management, LLC and a co-portfolio manager for its Saybrook Corporate Opportunity Fund which specializes in distressed debt and capital constrained private equity investments. Saybrook manages approximately $1.7 billion of capital focused on private equity and fixed income investments and its investment bank has had significant roles in restructurings, corporate reorganizations and distressed M&A including a number of the largest bankruptcies over the past two decades.  

Chris joined Saybrook in 2006 with over 18 years of experience as a private equity and distressed debt investor as well as a financial advisor specializing in mergers and acquisitions and financial restructurings. Prior to joining Saybrook, he was actively involved in the leadership of $950 million of investments during his decade-long tenure at Oaktree Capital Management. While at Oaktree, Chris was responsible for all aspects of private equity and distressed debt investing including representing the firm as a director on eight portfolio company boards of directors. Before joining Oaktree, he advised on mergers & acquisitions and restructuring transactions at Salomon Brothers Inc, now the investment banking arm of Citigroup, and Price Waterhouse.  

Chris received his M.B.A. and undergraduate degree from Michigan State University after completing a five-year joint graduate/undergraduate program. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Public Accountant.
